Saptkund Trek is the most amazing place to visit when you are ready for a great trekking tour! There are many beautiful treks available to attend in Uttarakhand but Saptkund Trek is one of the most amazing trekking sites to enjoy, if you are looking for something new and less known to trekkers.
There has not been much publicity for the trek but surely it is an adventure in the area that is pristine and untouched. It is a difficult trek but the reward is heaven. The trek can be made easier by increasing the number of trek days. Its peaceful and soothing landscape will strike a chord with your heart and you will be able to witness what unperturbed nature, really is like. Sprawling green meadows, decorated with diverse alpine flowers and happy little streams flowing by – all with the picturesque mountains all around.
Sapt kund (Seven lakes) is a group of lakes nestled in the foothills of gigantic Nandaghunti peak. The lakes are located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 5400m to 5700m.
One has to cover a 28 Km trek from the Pagna Village to reach Saptkund. Pagna village is located at a distance of about 35 Km from the town of Chamoli.
The 28 Km trek is a moderate to difficult trek as the route is quite steep and there are no villages in the route. However, the beautiful views and dense forests along with splendid Himalayan peaks give visitors a tranquil environment.
The sparsely known trail offers the peace and serenity as very few trekkers venture there as well as the adventurous feel of exploring an almost unknown territory. The complete trek would take total 5 days, 3 days for up and 2 for down. Total distance covered in up and down is almost 56 km.
